Cervical Pain Treatment
In Ayurveda, the condition referred to as Greeva graham is marked by stiffness in the neck and bears a close resemblance to cervical spondylosis. The term "Greeva" means neck, while "Graha" translates to stiffness, highlighting a predominance of Vata Dosha in this condition. Vata, which governs dryness and movement within the body, plays a significant role in the degeneration of tissues. As Vata levels rise, particularly with aging, it accelerates the breakdown of body tissues. This dryness and subsequent wear-and-tear from elevated Vata result in a reduction of Kapha Dosha, specifically Sleshaka Kapha.
Sleshaka Kapha is essential for providing cushioning between the bones and joints. When its levels decrease, the natural cushioning effect is diminished, leading to disc degeneration. This degenerative process ultimately contributes to the development of cervical spondylosis. Therefore, the imbalance in Vata, coupled with the reduction in Sleshaka Kapha, is fundamental to the progression of this condition. Ayurveda focuses on addressing these imbalances to restore and maintain overall health and well-being.

Home Remedies for Cervical or Spondylosis Pain
Cervical problems can also be managed at home through regular yoga exercises. Recommended exercises include:
- Sidewise bending of the head to improve blood circulation around the neck
- Neck bending forward and backward to reduce muscle tension

Improving blood circulation around the neck can significantly reduce the chance of cervical or spondylosis pain.
Diet for Cervical Patients
The diet for cervical patients should exclude:
- Sour things, particularly curd
- Fried items
- Pulses and various preparations of pulses
Recommended foods include bitter vegetables like bitter gourd, neem flowers, and drumstick. Wheat is preferred over rice for patients.
