Ayurveda, often regarded as the oldest healing science, translates to "The Science of Life" in Sanskrit. Originating in India over 5,000 years ago, it is known as the "Mother of All Healing." Rooted in Vedic culture, Ayurvedic knowledge was traditionally passed down orally from masters to disciples across generations, with some documented teachings appearing a few thousand years ago. Despite this, much of the wisdom remains elusive. Ayurveda has influenced many natural healing systems recognized in the West, such as Homeopathy and Polarity Therapy.
Emphasizing prevention and health maintenance, Ayurveda promotes balance in all aspects of life—thinking, diet, lifestyle, and herbs. It teaches how to achieve harmony of body, mind, and consciousness based on one’s unique constitution, which blends physical, mental, and emotional traits. By understanding and addressing factors that disrupt this balance, Ayurveda seeks to restore and maintain one’s original constitution, fostering overall health and well-being. This holistic approach integrates lifestyle adjustments to sustain balance and improve life quality.
